Hard target International offers a variety of tailored training security courses,
Our training programs are designed for people who want to learn how to be their own body guard.
As the world becomes more and more unstable due to terrorism, mass shootings, date rapes, violent crime, kidnappings etc more and more people are asking how can I protect myself and my family???
What measures can I put in place to keep the people I love safe and secure.
Hard Target International have a range of courses and training system available.
from our foundation course; BE YOUR OWN BODY GUARD through to a whole range of medical and FIRST AID COURSES.
SHAPING THE MINDSET,
This is the core HARD TARGET course, that will teach you to think and act like a professional bodyguard.
Today’s professional security officers are constantly aware of their surroundings and will always have a plan for escape. They know where the nearest emergency room or safe haven is, they will have identified possible threats and risks in advance and they will be watching for any suspicious people or activity.
We are trained from day one to look for presence of the abnormal, or the lack of normal behaviour or circumstances. At its core this is the whole philosophy behind the phrase
“BEING A HARD TARGET”
The idea of being your own bodyguard comes from the need for enhanced personal security without having to pay for a full time bodyguard or professional security operative.
Through years of operational experience and experience of in-depth planning and preparations, our instructor team has come to realise that the primary difference between the average person on the street and the professional bodyguard, is not necessarily the skills they possess, but the way that they think and the mindset that they cultivate.
If you’ve seen the Kevin Costner film, “the Bodyguard,” you’ve seen a relatively poor Hollywood depiction of how security professionals operate. The only aspect of the film that comes anywhere close to reality is the scene in which he gains access to the building by giving a false name through a broken intercom system. He then sets about hardening the venue through the instillation of an up to date CCTV monitoring system, passive infrared motion sensors (PIRs) and password protected access controls.
Defensive Driving Course,
This course will give you the key skills needed to be able to avoid both accidents and ambushes from those who wish to harm you.
It doesn’t matter whether you drive a Jaguar, a Porsche, a limousine, or a pickup truck or taxi, we will polish up your driving skills and teach you to drive as smoothly as a limo driver and as alert as a secure convoy driver (two different skill sets). You will learn how to position your vehicle to safely pick up and drop off passengers. How to perform emergency departures (known in security trade as embus & debus manoeuvres), how to search and make your vehicle secure as well as giving the non mechanically minded a good understanding of what makes their vehicle work, so they can then spot out of place items including tracking devices or explosive devices
Risk & Threat assessments
There is a big difference between a risk and a threat assessment.
Threats are all Man Made;
I’m going to kill you, or
I'm going to take your children, or
I’m going to destroy you and your business…
these are type of threats we hear people make all the time, a threat assessment looks at how likely is that to actually happen.
If you’re on a computer forum and you get one of these threats, chances are you have a 12 year old keyboard warrior on the other end hiding behind a user name. So the risk of it actually happening is low. If however you are in the middle of a messy divorce and you get threatened with” I will take the children and ruin your business”… The risk becomes quite high, and steps would need be to taken to protect yourself and your family.
We have been asked many times “just what is surveillance and how do I avoid it?”
A legal definition could be;
“A planned operation to observe a target, (Person, Place or Object), covertly, usually without the target being aware in order to gather information/intelligence”
Or to it put simply
“Other people watching, listening & recording your movements”.
Our introduction to Surveillance course is designed to introduce the candidate to the idea of how easy it for other people to follow you, your family or your team, for purposes that may cause you or bring you into harms way.
Our two company Founders have a combined knowledge of over fifty years worth of practical hands on martial arts training.
Our hard target unarmed combat programme has been designed to give you practical hands on skills for when everything has gone wrong and you find yourself having to deal with a dangerous hands on situation. We will teach you up to a dozen carefully selected core techniques. We will then teach you how to use them, to achieve maximum effect and gain a tactical advantage. Once we have practiced all of the techniques, we encourage you to keep and develop your favorite four and practice them until they become second nature.
In the worst case scenarios almost all of the techniques taught could be used at the lethal level. Therefore, strict guideline and training practices will be adhered to throughout this course.
Our Unarmed Combat course now includes a BTEC Level 2 qualification in Conflict Management and Physical Intervention,
(these are the same skill sets taught to door supervisors across the UK)
A core bodyguard principle is to “maximize your multipliers.” A multiplier is anything that “multiplies” your ability to defend yourself against attack. Imagine these scenarios:
• An unarmed, 100-pound female faces a 250-pound attacker intent on harming her.
• The same 100-pound female faces the same attacker, but this time she is armed with a firearm and trained to use it competently.
Regardless of your political views regarding firearms, in the security industry a firearm is simply considered a force multiplier. Essentially it shifts the tactical advantage from the attacker to the potential victim. But this is only true if you are trained and competent in its use.
Our armed combat course will teach you basic firearm safety rules, firearm functions and operations, and tactical application of those operations. As with the unarmed combat course, we encourage you to continue practicing the skills you develop until they become second nature to you.
In order to have credibility in this industry you will need to show that you are trained to the right level. This means that you will be required to hold the right qualifications which includes Close Protection, Conflict Management and First Aid. This is a statutory requirement to apply for an SIA license for working in the UK.
This is an ideal course for security managers, supervisors, security officers, door supervisors or anyone in the security industry that is responsible for monitoring the threat of terrorism and the associated risk management.
The Professional Bodyguard Association / Recognized Prior Learning (PBA / RPL) course is designed for those people who have already received some form of security training or have experience in the Close/Executive Protection fields.
These courses are only offered to overseas students who have prior experience in the security industry,
our RPL course is taught in Winchester Virginia USA twice a year.
